  • Sometimes you’ve got to be a little bit naughty!

This is a stand-alone block and is suitable for both beginners and those who have previously had lessons.

Step inside the magical, mischievous world of musical theatre as we learn to play the fabulous ‘Naughty’ from the phenomenal musical Matilda!

In this fun-filled block, students will build real musical skills as they learn how to read a lead sheet, name notes on the stave, and understand basic note values- all while being immersed in the joy of musicals.

This block is perfectly suited to both complete beginners and those who have had lessons before. Beginners will focus on confidently playing the right-hand melody, while more experienced players will be challenged to add left-hand open fifth chords and then take things even further by experimenting with different left-hand patterns to bring the music to life.

Sessions will begin with lively body percussion inspired by famous musicals, and students will also have the opportunity to perform for the group at the end of the lesson if they wish- building confidence, creativity, and a true love of playing the piano or keyboard.

Students can join in with a piano or keyboard. Adult supervision is highly recommended during each lesson.

Tutor

Natalie .

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.
