Content

  • Transposing Clocks

This is a stand alone block which is suitable for students who have completed previous blocks with me and for students who have never played a note before. Students can join in with a piano or keyboard.

Ever tried to play a song and realised it just doesn’t quite fit - too tricky, too high, or too low to sing along with? Fear not! In this exciting new block, we’ll dive into the magic of transposing - changing the key of your music so it works perfectly for you.

We’ll be learning the iconic ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay to guide us through, exploring how to play broken chords, and even composing our own 4-bar riff. And that’s not all - I’ll also show you how to create your very own backing track, so you can sound like a true pro!

So, whether you’re a singer, a player, or a future songwriter, this block will help you sound and feel your best at the piano or keyboard.

  • Course Objectives:

To be able to play ‘Clocks’ by Coldplay

To have an understanding of how to transpose a piece of music

Tutor

Natalie .

Piano Tutor

Hi, I’m Natalie and I am the piano/keyboard teacher for the hub. I am a mum of two and a qualified primary school teacher. I have been playing the piano since I was 6 years old and have been teaching piano for around 24 years- both online and in person. I am also a classically trained singer and was a member of the Cantamus Girls’ Choir for ten years. Pre-Covid, I enjoyed singing to residents in care homes and running my own dementia choir. Music is such a huge part of my life and I am thoroughly enjoying teaching in the hub, where I can share my love of music and enjoy watching children flourish.
