  • Learning Show Description

Get ready to rhyme, laugh, puzzle and perform in our newest learning show - Poetry! Linked to the AQA unit award so you can earn yourself an accreditation!

Across five lessons, children will explore a brilliant variety of poetry including riddles, kennings, limericks, haiku, free verse and narrative poems, discovering how poets use rhythm, rhyme, imagery and humour to bring words to life.

Each session combines teaching with interactive workbook challenges, creative writing, poetry investigations, performance at home, independent activities and exciting Kahoot quizzes.

We won't just read poetry – we'll play with language, solve poetic puzzles and become poets, creating our own original pieces along the way!

Tutor

Stacey .

Year 5/6 Tutor

Hiya everyone, I’m Stacey. I’m a primary school teacher from Nottinghamshire.
Currently I teach year 6 and have done for the last 6 years as once you’re in they don’t tend to let you out. 😂 I have also taught in years 3 and 5. The best part about my job is watching those lightbulb moments where children just get it! I love watching them grow in confidence from the beginning to the end of a lesson!
Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and taking my Spanish rescue dog , Lila, on long treks through the woods! We’ve found many deer but never any bears on our hunts!
