Content

  • Ancient Egypt

    A fun and interactive session where we will delve into the depth of the Ancient Egyptian civilization!

    As always, the block will have lots of fun facts and interactive tasks for you to participate in throughout the lesson, including video clips, Kahoot quizzes and a recipe.

  • Course Objectives:

    We will learn about where the Egyptian civilization fits in the timeline of world history; what life was life for people who lived at this time and the various Gods and Goddesses people believed in.

    We will learn about (and try out!) the mummification process, learn to write in hieroglyphics and look at sources of evidence which help us learn about the past.

    We will learn about the Egyptian pharaoh Tutankhamun, the famous Egyptian pyramids and the Valley of the Kings.

    Resources Needed:

    For our recipe, you will need dates, rice crispies, sugar, butter, vanilla extra, icing sugar (optional nuts- pecans/walnuts).

Primary History Tutor

Hi! I’m Sarah and I teach Primary History on The Hub and am currently working on a new exciting recording ready for after Christmas. I’m a mum of two young boys and have been a primary teacher for 15 years (how time flies!) After spending the last 10 years teaching Year 6 in a junior school I now work mainly with young people and adults with a variety of different educational needs, either 1-to-1 or delivering group workshops. I’m loving this new challenge in addition to my work at The Hub! Above all, my aim is to work creatively to make lessons fun and engaging- I think we all learn more that way!

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
