  • Bird Adventure Quest

    We will explore the captivating world of birds.

    Learners will explore bird species, behaviors, and adaptations through fun activities like Bird Bingo, designing their own birds, and crafting clay eggs.

    They will discover how birds navigate migration routes, build nests, and find food, while engaging in hands-on projects such as making a balancing bird and a bird feeder.

    With creative activities like bird origami and owl pellet dissection, this adventure fosters curiosity, observation skills, and a love for nature, making science both exciting and accessible.

  • Course Objectives:

    Identify common bird species and recognize their unique features.

    Understand bird adaptations, including beak shapes, flight, and nesting behavior.

    Explore migration, navigation, and how birds find food and build nests.

    Engage in hands-on activities such as crafting bird feeders, clay eggs, and origami to reinforce scientific concepts.

    Observe and Analyze bird behavior through activities like bird spotting, owl pellet dissection, and creating charts.

    Foster creativity and scientific curiosity while learning to design and innovate within the context of bird science.

My name is Carrie Ann! I teach Primary and GCSE science in the hub. I have a degree in Biochemistry and over 16 years science teaching to my name, both in schools and the outdoor classroom. I am obsessed with making science fun for children! I want to inspire children to become scientists. Why? Because science is SO important. We need tomorrow’s: 👩‍🔬Doctors 👨‍🔬Research Scientists 👩‍🔬Engineers 👨‍🔬Inventors 👩‍🔬Nano technology experts If we can spark your child’s imagination to ask, explore, question and investigate; this becomes of a life-long skill which could lead down the path of an amazing science career. Who knows we might even have a future Nobel Prize winner?!
