They will start by understanding the importance of sleep and its role in well-being while participating in activities like making a sleepy concoction and discussing bedtime routines. Next, they'll delve into sleep patterns and requirements, keeping sleep diaries and learning about snoring and sleep environments. The program will then take them into the fascinating world of sleep in nature, investigating unique sleep habits in animals and the effects of sleep deprivation. They'll also debunk common sleep myths and explore cultural bedtime traditions. Finally, the program will conclude by unraveling sleep-related phenomena in the human body, from counting sheep to yawning and discussing sleep disorders. Activities will include: Making a sleepy drink Making a hibernation station Keeping a sleep diary Could you handle being as cold as a hibernating animal? L/O: Understanding Sleep Importance: By the end of this block, children will grasp the fundamental importance of sleep for their health, growth, and overall well-being. They will appreciate the concept of bedtime routines to signal the body for sleep. Sleep Patterns and Needs: Children will explore different sleep patterns across age groups, gaining an understanding of how much sleep is required for various stages of development. They will keep a sleep diary to observe and document their own sleep patterns.
