Content

  • Research Methods

    Everything we learn about in psychology has come from research being carried out, and research methods are an integral part of the course.

    In this block we will learn about different variables in experiments, how some could affect the results and how to control for them, different ways of recruiting and grouping participants and their strengths & limitations, and ethical considerations psychologists have to take into account.

  • Course Objectives:

    To explain how to form different hypotheses

    To explain different types of variables

    To explain experiment types, experimental design and sampling methods

    To understand ethical considerations in research

Hi, I´m Mel and I teach a few things in the hub; psychology, sociology, ethics & philosophy, globetrotting, wild about animals and number ninjas! I´ve been teaching for 15 years and have taught from ages 7 to 18 hence the diverse range of subjects! My main passion is psychology as this was my degree and I find it fascinating to learn about human behaviour and love passing that onto the student. My love of animals comes from the growing brood of fur-babies I´ve fostered or adopted – I currently have 6 cats and 3 dogs (who occasionally appear in the background of a lesson!). I live in Spain with my partner and 6 year old daughter, Olivia. I love to make my lessons as engaging and interactive as possible to make lessons enjoyable and memorable, and hope to see you in one of my classes soon!

  • How do I access the Live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration. You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class. The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient
