  • Camp Adventure

    Welcome to Camp Adventure, where every session brings a new challenge, a new experience and a new story to tell.

    In this exciting writing block, young adventurers will tackle team challenges, make important decisions, share recommendations, solve problems and reflect on their experiences through a variety of fun and engaging activities.

    With plenty of discussion, choice and short, manageable writing tasks, children will build confidence while discovering that writing can be a powerful way to share ideas, capture experiences and inspire others.

    Whether they're creating guides, making a case for their best plan or celebrating their greatest adventure, every learner will have the opportunity to develop their voice in a supportive and encouraging environment.

  • Course Objectives:

    Write for different purposes and audiences, including guides, recommendations, reflections and persuasive pieces.

    Organise ideas clearly using headings, sections, bullet points and captions.

    Support opinions and decisions with reasons and examples.

    Choose vocabulary to inform, engage and persuade readers.

    Review and improve writing to make it clearer and more effective.

Minecraft Explorers Academy and Creative and Reluctant Writers Tutor

Hi, I’m Laura and I teach English-based (Creative Writing and Reluctant Writers) and cross-curricula sessions (Book Club 5-7 and Harry Potter Fan Club) mostly aimed at primary learners on the Hub.
I’m a qualified Primary teacher, specialising in English, but have been private tutoring in English and Maths for over 9 years with a range of students from 5-16 years old. I absolutely adore tutoring – it is everything I love about teaching without the pressure and unrealistic expectations on pace and paperwork that tries to squash children into a mould which can be so damaging to their confidence.
I’m delighted to have found the Hub to be able to reach out to home educators and offer a creative and confidence-boosting curriculum that brings the fun back into learning and celebrates all the little achievements along the way!

  • How do I access the live sessions?

    You will receive a confirmation email from Zoom, containing details of your live registration.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
