About this course

  • £10.00
  • Tutor: Hannah Y, 5 sessions
  • Age: 8+
  • Description: Explore the world of programming with engaging Scratch coding sessions designed for kids aged 8 and above. Led by Hannah, these lessons turn coding concepts into playable games, fostering critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Suitable for beginners and beyond, Hannah's coding tutorials create a supportive environment for collaboration and creativity. Prepare your child for the future with invaluable coding skills while enjoying endless possibilities, from classic arcade games to unique adventures. Join the fun and give your child the gift of coding with game based learning! Each session has a printable script to follow to help participants keep up or indeed get ahead if they wish to. This is helpful to those new to coding but also includes additional challenges for those wishing to extend their learning beyond the 45-60 minute sessions. Preparation: Create a free account here: https://scratch.mit.edu All you need is: a computer or laptop with a keyboard. A second screen so that you can join the live session (or watch the recording) on one and open Scratch on the other. Suitable for those who have completed the previous beginners and intermediate sessions or have some experience with block coding. We'll go over basics as well as showing you how you can make your games more exciting! Recommended for age 8+. Younger beginners may benefit from completing one or two recorded sessions or exploring the Scratch platform independently ahead of joining live sessions. I recommend January 2023 block in £2 Tuition Hub.
