  • Description: A popular political leader is becoming ever more powerful. He is beginning to believe that he has absolute power and is in danger of becoming a tyrant. Those around him are worried and plot to bring him down. He is stabbed in the back by those closest to him. What will happen next? Sound familiar? Well, Julius Caesar is a very well know historical figure! In Shakespeare’s play “Julius Caesar”, we will see how the plot develops against Caesar and how the conspirators fare in the aftermath of this. As usual, we will be studying each of the five Acts over five sessions, with a mixture of film clips, script reading and discussion about language, themes and characters. The script is freely available online. Understanding of plot, themes and characters as well as language and context.
