  • PLEASE NOTE, THERE ARE NO KITS LEFT FOR THIS COURSE. YOU WILL NEED TO SOURCE YOUR OWN MATERIALS. THANK YOU. Description: Fairground Rides. Embark on this engaging S.T.E.A.M (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Maths) project where children can create their very own fairground ride. This hands-on project offers children aged 9 and above (younger children may need some help) the opportunity to dive into the history and mechanics of traditional fairground rides, discovering the key components such as the central pole, rotating platform, and decorative elements like horses or animals. Using either a kit (available to order from Hannah) or their own materials, children will unleash their creativity and engineering skills to construct a functioning ride while building on their knowledge of circuits. They will also explore concepts of stability and balance, experimenting with gear ratios to control speed and direction. To add an artistic flair, students can decorate their fairground with personalised designs, bringing their imaginative visions to life. There will be opportunities for collaboration and communication as participants interact with peers online, sharing ideas and learning from each other's experiences. This online S.T.E.A.M project will deepen children's understanding of engineering principles, unleash their creativity through art and design and enhance problem-solving skills.
