Content

  • Speak Now – Monologues Inspired by Songs

    In this block, students will be inspired by their favourite songs (especially Taylor Swift hits) to write original monologues.

    Each week, they’ll explore the story, emotion and character behind a song and practise turning those ideas into written pieces that capture voice, mood and perspective.

    Students will focus on developing strong characters, clear structure and expressive writing.

    By the end of the block, every student will have written several monologues, building confidence in creative writing and storytelling.

    This class is perfect for young writers and music fans who enjoy exploring characters, emotions, and story through words.

  • Course Objectives:

    Explore characters and emotions inspired by song lyrics

    Develop original monologues in writing, focusing on voice and perspective

    Structure ideas clearly to create coherent and engaging monologues

    Use descriptive language to convey mood, feelings and character traits

    Experiment with creative writing techniques to bring characters and stories to life on the page

Hi everyone! I’m Amy and I’ve been a private tutor since 2020. I previously worked as a teacher where I taught in almost every year you can think of! I’ve worked in mainstream, independent and special schools. I’m passionate about every child being able to access an education that is right for them and I’m excited to be a part of that! During my time as a teacher, I worked with students with very high anxiety and as a result I’m an empathetic tutor and always aim for students to feel safe and secure in my lessons first and foremost. I also like to produce fun and engaging lessons that focus on topics that students are actually interested in! I love travelling, reading and spending time at home with my baby, husband and dog! I also run my own greeting card company and have sold over 50,000 designs! I am so excited to be joining the hub and to meet you all. I am a huge advocate for home education and I love what the £2 hub stands for! I hope to see in my lessons soon!
