  • Understanding Drama

    This block is a continuation of previous blocks, but it is possible for new students to join us.

    I recommend new students please read the play 'Noughts & Crosses' the Dominic Cooke adaptation, which can be bought on Amazon.

    Step into the world of theatre and discover what really brings drama to life! In this exciting class, you’ll explore a wide range of genres, styles, and historical contexts.

    We’ll dive deep into an influential set text – Noughts and Crosses – unpacking the playwright’s intentions and the powerful social, cultural, and historical ideas that shaped it.

    But it’s not just about reading plays! You’ll get to think like a director, performer, and designer, exploring how staging, interpretation, and collaboration all come together to create theatre.

    Along the way, you’ll build your knowledge of key drama terminology and the roles of different theatre makers, giving you the confidence to analyse, discuss, and bring ideas to life.

    📚 While this isn’t a GCSE subject on its own, it’s a fantastic way to strengthen your understanding and skills for the Drama GCSE exam – helping you feel more prepared, more confident, and more inspired!

Hi, I’m Rosie, the Performing Arts teacher. I’m a mum of one and I own a Theatre School here where I live in leafy Somerset. I am also a one to one singing teacher and registered to teach in preparation for Musical Theatre LAMDA examination. I spent most of my childhood singing, dancing and acting, going on to study Performing Arts at college and complete a BA Hons in Musical Theatre. After finishing my degree I signed a record contract, and briefly toured as part of a girl band, released 2 singles and performed on a West End stage (‘The Lyric Theatre’ if you are interested) Whilst I no longer perform, I get so much joy from teaching everything I’ve learnt to students in real life at our theatre school and virtually here on the hub.

    You will also have a reminder one hour before the start of each class.

    The live session can be accessed from the 'Join Webinar' button in these emails.

  • I've missed a session, can I have the recording?

    All recordings are uploaded within 24 hours to here - your dashboard - so you can watch whenever is convenient.
