  • Description: Lava - a song, a story, an adventure! In this block we will hear Uku’s song – a beautiful melody that has flowed around the islands of the Pacific ocean for thousands of years. Our mission will be to tell Uku’s story and bring an end to his loneliness. Based on the Disney short animation ‘Lava’, throughout this block we’ll be exploring tips and tricks for creating fabulously crafted short stories. L/O: Children will develop their confidence and enthusiasm for writing through a fun and creative approach that will ensure they always have a starting point and support along the way! Throughout these blocks, children will experiment with word choice, extend their knowledge of spellings, punctuation and grammar and explore the use of a range of literary devices to create different effects.
