• STAND ALONE BLOCK. Description: The Wonderful World of Words! Join me for our newest English block where we will be focusing on all things word related. We will delve into the world of words and look at the grammatical side of English. We will look at the class of words including - nouns, pronouns, prepositions, articles/determiners, verbs, adverbs and conjunctions. We will learn how to identify and create expanded noun phrases to describe; how to use pronouns to write relative clauses adding extra information about a noun; how to use coordinating and subordinating conjunctions to join main and subordinate clauses; how to use adverbs of time, frequency and manner and identify and use modal and passive verbs. We will apply our learning of different word classes to grammar questions and short pieces of writing to give you the opportunity to use each word class for effect within your writing.
