  • Block 1 (September) we will be looking at Poetry. Join me in this exciting new block where we would delve into the literary world of poetry. We will study different forms of poems including narrative poems, classic poems, shape poems and performance poems. We will read, discuss and analyse poetry and express our opinion of the poems we read. You will have the opportunity to write your own narrative and shape poem and a poem that you may wish to perform during class or for your parents/ siblings at home or maybe even your pet! We will learn all about figurative language and how to use it effectively to capture and intrigue an audience.

  • Objectives:- To read, analyse and discuss poems of different styles commenting on their effect and impact on the reader including the poet’s use of vocabulary and figurative language. To understand figurative language and how it is used in poems and to write our own in poetry. To write a range of poems to entertain and inform. Tutor

Stacey .

Year 5/6 Tutor

Hiya everyone, I’m Stacey. I’m a primary school teacher from Nottinghamshire. Currently I teach year 6 and have done for the last 6 years as once you’re in they don’t tend to let you out. 😂 I have also taught in years 3 and 5. The best part about my job is watching those lightbulb moments where children just get it! I love watching them grow in confidence from the beginning to the end of a lesson! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and taking my Spanish rescue dog , Lila, on long treks through the woods! We’ve found many deer but never any bears on our hunts!

“We have been taking part in the BSL lessons and the other day had great fun finger spelling while shopping. Two of my children have dyslexia with T being more severe, he hates and refuses spellings. Along comes BSL and he’s loving spellings!” ”

Holly, Parent

“Our family are full time travellers and the hub is a life line for us. The children get to see and speak to adults who show a real interest in their learning and their lives. They get to pick lessons that they are interested in and have fun learning something new. The social hub was a real life line for us too. My 3 have made friends and love getting to chat to children and adults daily too. ”

Donna, Parent

“I can’t thank you enough for starting this group Amy. You gave me back my happy (not so little anymore) boy. Thanks to this group he’s realised he’s not the stupid, naughty kid that school made him believe he was. His sister is on school holidays and he’s doing recorded lessons by choice. Xxxx ”
