Content

  • Geometry-Position, direction & properties of shape. Join me in our new Maths block of geometry where we will be focusing firstly on; SHAPES: Identifying, classifying, describing building and drawing shapes. (2D and 3D) All about ANGLES - learn that angles are measured in degrees, estimate and measure angles and identify angles at a point, on a straight line 1/2 and full turn, comparing different angles. We will learn how to find unknown angles in shapes, where they meet at a point, on a straight line and vertically opposite angles. POSITION- identify and describe the position of shapes on the full coordinate grid, draw and translate shapes describing the position of after a translated/ reflected shape.

  • • Identify 3-D shapes, including cubes and cuboids, recognise, describe and build 3d shapes and draw shapes using given dimensions/angles, distinguishing between regular and irregular polygons • Compare and classify geometric shapes based on their properties and sizes and find unknown angles in any triangles, quadrilaterals, and regular polygons • Know angles are measured in degrees; estimate and measure them • Identify: multiples of 90°, angles at a point on a straight line and ½ a turn (total 180°); angles at a point and one whole turn (total 360°); reflex angles; and compare different angles • Find unknown angles where they meet at a point, are on a straight line, and are vertically opposite • Describe positions on the full coordinate grid (all four quadrants) Draw and translate simple shapes on the coordinate plane, and reflect them in the axes. • Identify, describe and represent the position of a shape following a reflection or translation, using the appropriate language, and know that the shape has not changed.

Tutor

Stacey .

Year 5/6 Tutor

Hiya everyone, I’m Stacey. I’m a primary school teacher from Nottinghamshire. Currently I teach year 6 and have done for the last 6 years as once you’re in they don’t tend to let you out. 😂 I have also taught in years 3 and 5. The best part about my job is watching those lightbulb moments where children just get it! I love watching them grow in confidence from the beginning to the end of a lesson! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and taking my Spanish rescue dog , Lila, on long treks through the woods! We’ve found many deer but never any bears on our hunts!

“I can’t thank you enough for starting this group Amy. You gave me back my happy (not so little anymore) boy. Thanks to this group he’s realised he’s not the stupid, naughty kid that school made him believe he was. His sister is on school holidays and he’s doing recorded lessons by choice. Xxxx ”

“This group is without doubt an absolute blessing. Fantastic classes with amazing teachers at an extremely reasonable price. I for one am so thankful to you and your team for everything you all do. We appreciate the hub so much and are very grateful xx ”

Claire, Parent

“Our family are full time travellers and the hub is a life line for us. The children get to see and speak to adults who show a real interest in their learning and their lives. They get to pick lessons that they are interested in and have fun learning something new. The social hub was a real life line for us too. My 3 have made friends and love getting to chat to children and adults daily too. ”

Donna, Parent

“£2 tuition hub was the best resource I found my entire time home educating. I’m still currently using the £2 Hub 3 years later”

Maxine, Parent

“Fantastic group has helped us through 3+ years of home ed, wish we knew of you before that when we first started ”

Sharon, Parent

“We have been taking part in the BSL lessons and the other day had great fun finger spelling while shopping. Two of my children have dyslexia with T being more severe, he hates and refuses spellings. Along comes BSL and he’s loving spellings!” ”
