  • Mission Maths:
    The Four Ops!

    In our next maths block students will become Maths Agents completing missions using the four operations (addition subtraction multiplication and division) to crack codes, solve real life problems and test their mental agility with rapid recall of mathematical facts.

    Each lesson will focus on a key skill with differing levels of challenge and cross-operation links.

    Codebreakers - will focus on using formal methods of +/- involving large numbers and decimals.

    Multiplication Mayhem -focusing on both short and long multiplication strategies and application in problems.

    Division detectives will delve into short division and interpretation of remainders.

    Mixed operation madness will look at understanding the order of operations. Mission impossible - real life four operation challenges!

  • Course Objectives:

    Add and subtract whole numbers with more than 4 digits using formal written methods

    perform mental calculations including mixed operations and large numbers Multiply numbers up to four digits by 1 or 2 digits

    divide numbers up to 4 digits by a one digit number and interpret remainders appropriately

    solve addition and subtraction multi step problems in different contexts use knowledge of the four operations and the order of operations and apply to solve calculations

    solve multi step problems involving all 4 operations deciding which operations to use and why.

Hiya everyone, I’m Stacey. I’m a primary school teacher from Nottinghamshire. Currently I teach year 6 and have done for the last 6 years as once you’re in they don’t tend to let you out. 😂 I have also taught in years 3 and 5. The best part about my job is watching those lightbulb moments where children just get it! I love watching them grow in confidence from the beginning to the end of a lesson! Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends and taking my Spanish rescue dog , Lila, on long treks through the woods! We’ve found many deer but never any bears on our hunts!
