  • Description: Multiplication and division. Join me in this mathematical block of multiplication and division -the next step in our four operations journey. We will be joining the times table rock stars trying to improve our rapid recall of multiplication and division facts including multiplying and dividing by powers of ten mentally. We will practise both the written methods for multiplication and division and use our reasoning skills to solve problems using both operations We will be able to show our answers in different ways depending on the context - remainders, fractions and decimals and also learn how to round up/ down to give an accurate answer. We are learning to: Practise and extend use of both mental methods and efficient written methods of multiplication and division Use and apply knowledge of factor, multiple, prime square and cubed numbers Express answers depending on context using remainders, fractions and decimals and rounding when necessary. Use and apply multiplication and division methods to solve reasoning and worded problems, ratio and scaling.
