Content

  • Vet Craft & Play is designed for younger children with an interest in learning about veterinary practices & veterinary skills. In the lessons I will chat about diKerent aspects of being a vet and provide suggestions for veterinary / animal themed play time. I will use soft toys to demonstrate some veterinary skills which the children can use in their role playing. Each lesson will have a vet or science-based craft project related to the lesson topics

  • **CONTENT WARNING: Although these lessons are less graphic and clinical than the older children’s lessons (Veterinary Detectives), I may still chat briefly about neutering, vaccinations, medicines, surgery, diseases, wounds, blood, bodily functions, organs, parasites, needles & syringes, male & female anatomy, death etc…. if it is appropriate for the topic being taught. If you do not want your child exposed to this, then please do not purchase the lessons. Please also be aware, I DO NOT encourage children to practice any veterinary skills on real animals / pets as they can be easily scared at being handled a diKerent way at home, and I wouldn’t want your child(ren) to get bitten or scratched. NB: some children may need adult help and supervision with the crafts**

  • Description of Block 1: In this block we will learn about diKerent types of veterinary practices, the staK that work in them and some important everyday veterinary skills. We’ll decide what types of creatures our pretend veterinary practices will treat, the name of our practice and have opportunity to design a logo and badge for our veterinary surgeries and staK. We’ll chat about important aspects of general health checks, vaccinations and antiparasite treatments, and use our soft toys to try out some veterinary skills! Examples of topics covered throughout the block: Play, imagination, creativity, self-expression, art craft & design, literacy, science, experimentation, animal welfare, clinical skills, veterinary terminology, decision making, problem solving, communication.

“I can’t thank you enough for starting this group Amy. You gave me back my happy (not so little anymore) boy. Thanks to this group he’s realised he’s not the stupid, naughty kid that school made him believe he was. His sister is on school holidays and he’s doing recorded lessons by choice. Xxxx ”

Karen, Parent

“this group is without doubt an absolute blessing. Fantastic classes with amazing teachers at an extremely reasonable price. I for one am so thankful to you and your team for everything you all do. We appreciate the hub so much and are very grateful xx ”

Claire, Parent

“Our family are full time travellers and the hub is a life line for us. The children get to see and speak to adults who show a real interest in their learning and their lives. They get to pick lessons that they are interested in and have fun learning something new. The social hub was a real life line for us too. My 3 have made friends and love getting to chat to children and adults daily too. ”

Donna, Parent

“£2 tuition hub was the best resource I found my entire time home educating. I’m still currently using the £2 Hub 3 years later”

Maxine, Parent

“Fantastic group has helped us through 3+ years of home ed, wish we knew of you before that when we first started ”

Sharon, Parent

“We have been taking part in the BSL lessons and the other day had great fun finger spelling while shopping. Two of my children have dyslexia with T being more severe, he hates and refuses spellings. Along comes BSL and he’s loving spellings!” ”
