  • Equipment & software needed for lessons:

    - VERY IMPORTANT - Desktop or laptop computer that meets the correct system requirements for running Adobe Photoshop CC 2024+ desktop program.

    - Desktop version of Adobe Photoshop Creative Cloud 2024+ program. I use the £9.98 per month Photography 20GB subscription plan, but other options may be available or suitable for you.

    Please read licensing and terms and conditions especially if you may want to sell retouch services / digital files / images made through Photoshop in the future.

    - Cloud storage, an external hard drive or a large amount of free hard drive space is advised as Photoshop files can sometimes be quite large!

  • PLEASE NOTE – you are responsible for any subscriptions or purchases of Adobe software, please read all terms and conditions and licensing carefully to make sure it is suitable for your needs, the amount of people using it and your budget.

    Unfortunately, I’m unable to provide individual advice or troubleshooting for any problems with Adobe software.

  • What do the lessons teach? Creative Retouch - Block 1- Introduction to Photoshop & Camera Raw Editing.

    In this first block I will guide you through setting up Photoshop and introduce you to what is in your Photoshop workspace. We’ll focus on the basics of opening di[erent file types, saving and exporting with the correct settings and then end with learning how to make presets and do some basic clean up and image editing in Camera Raw.

    Please note these lessons are only an introduction on how to do things, you will need to do lots of practicing in your own time to perfect your new Photoshop skills. Subsequent blocks will build on skills from previous blocks.

Hi, I’m Katy, I teach the Veterinary Detectives lessons. I'm a mum and home educate my 9 year old son. I am a qualified veterinary surgeon with 13 years experience in small animal clinical practice, and over 25 years of working with animals. I love to inspire kids with all the cool science and medical knowledge I can gather! Animals are amazing! During my time off I enjoy being in nature and especially love the beach on a cold winters day! My hobbies include crafting, baking, walking and yoga.
