  • This block focuses on the grammar, punctuation and spelling rules that even adults often get wrong! We tackle the trickier, more technical areas of English, things like commas vs semicolons, affect vs effect, sentence types and the little errors that can make a big difference. Lessons are designed to be clear, engaging and practical, with independent tasks to hone skills.

  • This block is perfect for anyone who wants to feel truly secure in their SPAG knowledge, whether for school, exams or simply writing with polish.

  • To use punctuation accurately, including apostrophes, commas, colons, semi-colons, hyphens and dashes.

    To avoid common grammar mistakes.

    To choose the correct homophones and spell tricky words.

    To write different types of sentences with control.

    To edit and proofread writing so it is clear and accurate.

Hi everyone! I’m Amy and I’ve been a private tutor since 2020. I previously worked as a teacher where I taught in almost every year you can think of! I’ve worked in mainstream, independent and special schools. I’m passionate about every child being able to access an education that is right for them and I’m excited to be a part of that! During my time as a teacher, I worked with students with very high anxiety and as a result I’m an empathetic tutor and always aim for students to feel safe and secure in my lessons first and foremost. I also like to produce fun and engaging lessons that focus on topics that students are actually interested in! I love travelling, reading and spending time at home with my baby, husband and dog! I also run my own greeting card company and have sold over 50,000 designs! I am so excited to be joining the hub and to meet you all. I am a huge advocate for home education and I love what the £2 hub stands for! I hope to see in my lessons soon!
