  • In this spooky writing block, students will explore the art of suspense, tension and the unexpected twist.

    Through a series of interactive activities, they will learn how to create eerie atmospheres, develop mysterious characters and weave objects and events into stories that surprise and captivate readers.

  • By the end of the block, students will have sharpened their storytelling skills, learned how to hook readers and created stories that linger in the mind long after the last word.

    Perfect for a pre-Halloween boost in creativity!

  • Use descriptive language to create a spooky atmosphere.

    Develop intriguing characters that add mystery and tension.

    Apply literary techniques to build suspense and keep readers engaged.

    Plan and craft twist endings that are surprising yet believable.

    Combine all elements to write a complete, engaging spooky story.

Hi everyone! I’m Amy and I’ve been a private tutor since 2020. I previously worked as a teacher where I taught in almost every year you can think of! I’ve worked in mainstream, independent and special schools. I’m passionate about every child being able to access an education that is right for them and I’m excited to be a part of that! During my time as a teacher, I worked with students with very high anxiety and as a result I’m an empathetic tutor and always aim for students to feel safe and secure in my lessons first and foremost. I also like to produce fun and engaging lessons that focus on topics that students are actually interested in! I love travelling, reading and spending time at home with my baby, husband and dog! I also run my own greeting card company and have sold over 50,000 designs! I am so excited to be joining the hub and to meet you all. I am a huge advocate for home education and I love what the £2 hub stands for! I hope to see in my lessons soon!
